and you tell me to breathe easy for awhile.
Yeah, that's not going to happen. Not since I caught the uber-flu from F@#&*#@ hell two and half weeks ago, and I am still not over it. Took every over-the-counter thing I could find... that didn't work. Took the antibiotics the first doc gave me... that didn't work. I am now on to the super cough syrup (the kind with codine) and super anti-stuffiness pills.... praying to God that these will do the trick.
Other than that, things have been interesting. Work is busy, among other things. I did get to go to Chicago this weekend with some friends. We went to see Wicked at the Oriental Theater. So good! The sets were amazing and the actors were fantastic. The one who played Glinda had us laughing hysterically. It was a very nice surprise, because I was a little leary about it after giving up on listening to the book. I just did not like it. Granted, it may have been the reader, but it did not click for me. The musical, on the other hand, was very funny and very good. If you get the chance, I totally recommend seeing it.
Before the show, we got to wander around State Street for a little bit. Went to Marshall Fields-now-Macy's. I was really kinda of disappointed. They took out all of the beautiful woodwork from the store and made it all modern. It just wasn't the same. I did get some Frango Mints. Yay! Diet be damned.
Okay, not really. I can tell you that the only bonus about being sick was that I lost five pounds, which puts my total to 20 pounds lost. Woohoo! One-third of my losing goal for this year is met. Now, I get to start focusing on exercising part of the plan. I have an appointment to go in on Wednesday to sign up for a gym and get a program started.
Beyond that, since everyone is talking about Roswell, I just have to mention that someone on one of my local radio stations mentioned the show this morning. Granted, it was in roundabout way, but still. I thought I would share.
